I like the rugged cord, it's a heavy wrap outer jacket. I like the strong thread-in connection. It's working great and I hope it lasts for years. I'm using it in the Northwoods of Wisconsin. I will be watching how it fares in extreme cold and blazing sun.
It shipped quickly!
I have yet to deploy the boxes but have used herd 360 DIY kits before with great success. Decided to let them do the work this time. Will add another hole to the box to add a solar charger to the SLA battery I put in the box. The DIY ones I did likewise and a year later they are still showing 100% battery on my Moultrie Edge cameras.
This is a great deal. The app is very easy to use and the pictures are sharp.
I've used a LOT of camera mounts for my work. I typically use Reconyx cameras and their mounts because they allow a lot of flexibility for a camera install. Unfortunately, Reconyx quality control has really gone downhill and the screws they use for their mounts are not properly threaded and difficult to screw into timber. Because of this poor quality, I started looking for other options. I purchased 2 of these mounts. I found them to be of great quality with very sharp screws, allowing easy install into trees. I will say these mounts are most appropriate to use for cameras that have a rear mounting thread. They are not as functional with cameras that use a bottom mounting thread. Once mounted, the ball mounts tighten down solid and seem to hold good. I had to paint mine for camo, so it'd be helpful if they weren't solid black.
Thank you for your review. I am a little confused about why you feel they aren't good for the bottom mount thread on cameras as that is primarily how I mount my cameras using this mount. I find it provides such a great variable mounting option both on the bottom and on the back. I sent you an email to try and get more information from you explaining so I can better understand. I also included a photo of one of my cameras mounted in the bottom thread. Thanks again, Mike.
